3D Modeling, Texturing, and Rendering

East Carolina University College of Nursing - Virtual Clinic

At the ECU College of Nursing, I contributed to developing immersive digital simulations to enhance nursing education. My work involved designing and creating interactive 3D environments where students could practice clinical decision-making in a controlled, realistic setting. Using the Unity 3D game engine, I helped develop scenarios that featured lifelike patient models and responsive environments to simulate real-world medical situations. I also collaborated with faculty to ensure the simulations aligned with learning objectives, incorporating feedback loops and performance tracking to support student growth.

Spaceship Model - Texturing - Compositing

The image below showcases a 3D model, composite, and render of a spaceship. This model I wanted to explore post-procesing effects available in Substance Suite, such as the reflection from the sun, as well as some mild blurring of the background land texture. This project later culminated into an infographic, shown below.

Form Forge - Bone Coat Rack

The image below showcases a 3D model of a bone coat rack, created for Form Forge, a yearly modeling contest at ECU's SoAD. This piece highlights advanced sculpting techniques, efficient polygon optimization, and the use of a variety of tools throughout the production process to achieve a polished and detailed design.

Acropolis - 3D Model

The images and video below feature a 3D-modeled Acropolis. I created this model to delve deeper into NURBS techniques and explore how lofting curves can generate complex geometric forms.

Greek Hellenistic Helmet - 3D Model - Low Topology

The images and video below feature a 3D-modeled Greek Hellenistic helmet. This project allowed me to explore low-poly asset creation, along with sculpting and baking techniques.

Gramophone

The images and video below showcase a 3D-modeled gramophone I designed as a render-ready asset. My goal for this project was to explore dynamic shapes and layered textures that would maintain visual appeal and realism. I focused on optimizing the model for performance while ensuring that the materials and textures created depth, capturing the worn yet intricate details of the gramophone to enhance its believability in a game setting.

Robotic Television

This project showcases a 3D-modeled robotic television character with a retro-futuristic aesthetic. The antenna and limbs highlight a mechanical, yet slightly anthropomorphic design. Through this work, I refined my skills in UV unwrapping and preparing assets for efficient texturing.
